Inviting Indigo Home Décor

I've been obsessing over indigo home décor lately. When I was little, I remember loving the deep blue, indigo tiles in my parents' kitchen. Though the tiles were removed while renovating the space to become more traditional and neutral, I've always had an appreciation for deep blue décor elements.

Not only is indigo inviting, but the deep, moody hue works for a variety of spaces. Part of me wants to dive right in and purchase an indigo sofa, and other parts of me just want to incorporate the shade into my home with pillows, rugs, wall art, or accessories.

Though the deep blue hue is bold and works well on its own, it can also complement patterns featuring pops of pink – especially when the design is as impressive as the breakfast nook above (designed by Amber Interiors).

Since blue is a relaxing color on it's own, adding some throw pillows or patterned rugs to a neutral-hued room can make it an instant retreat. Just like your favorite pair of blue jeans, indigo home accessories can instantly make you feel comfortable and at ease.

Indigo sofas or accent chairs add a ton of personality to a room. I'm particularly drawn to velvety blue fabrics as they appear a bit feminine and refined, despite the dark shade.

Incorporating indigo fabrics into dining room furniture is a great way to take a room that's usually very simple when it comes to color and adds a ton of appeal. Let's just say you won't want to casually eat on the couch if your dining room is as inviting as this one!
