Our Favorite Décor from The Vintage Rug Shop

The Vintage Rug Shop in Oakland, California

We have been following The Vintage Rug Shop on Instagram for awhile now, and we love everything that’s posted! Since 2015, designer and curator Brittany Chinaglia of Britt Interiors has been selling one-of-a-kind vintage rugs online & she recently opened her brick-and-mortar shop in Oakland, California – which we can’t wait to visit the next time we’re in Northern California! In the meantime, we just spend hours browsing her online store!

One of our favorite design tips is to incorporate both high and low price points, as well as new and antique/vintage pieces to create a balanced design that feels timeless, lived in, and cozy. The Vintage Rug Shop sources handmade goods and one-of-a-kind textiles from all over the world – hand-chosen by Brittany herself. From colorful pieces to neutral décor, we can't get enough of the stunning vintage rugs, pillows, and their recently launched artwork collection! We also adore the blankets (perfect for the foot of your bed) & tabletop accessories! While pricey, these items are one-of-a-kind and a great way to start a collection in your home that you and your family can pass down for years to come!

This extra-large lumbar pillow originated in Thailand and featured a brown, ivory, and taupe batik print. Since this vintage pillow is 14" x 34", we recommend placing it in front of throw pillows on your bed in lieu of a bolster – or on a large sofa!

“Hawk” 3’x9’ Runner from The Vintage Rug Shop - $3,500

After a recent clumsy mistake in the kitchen, one of our editors broke an entire bottle of wine that spilled all over her kitchen runner… so she’s in the market for a new one. While we wouldn’t recommend a stunner like this in an accident-ridden space, this would make a statement in a hallway!

This 18" square hmong vintage-textile pillow sourced from Thailand is so gorgeous! We love the texture & hue for a cozy bedroom or refined-casual living room.
