June Five Things // From The Inspired Abode

We’re over halfway through 2019! Now is the perfect time to look back at those New Year resolutions & goals that you set six months ago. Don’t get discouraged if you haven’t been keeping up with your intentions like you hoped you would, instead decide if they are still important to you & if so, make them a priority.

Since it seemed like quite the hit in May, we’re back with another edition of Five Things. We’d love to hear what you’re up to, so please share in the comments!

The Inspired Abode // June Monthly Musings

What We’re Watching…

The new season of Big Little Lies! Meryl Streep is such a good actress…that scream?! We read the book before it became a series on HBO – read more about the similarities & differences here.

We both just finished watching Chernobyl on HBO & highly recommend it. We had heard of the nuclear disaster, but had never really looked into the specifics of what happened…it’s heartbreaking! It’s only 5 episodes, but some are so intense that you might want to stick to one per day.

What we’re listening to…

Dr. Kelly Turner, author of Radical Remission, on the mindbodygreen podcast. She visited 10 countries in order to interview people who were told they had terminal cancer, and yet fully healed and were living years later. Her findings will inspire you to live a healthy & fulfilling life in order to both prevent and heal sickness.

What we’re Eating & Drinking…

Kelcy & her beau have perfected homemade pizza. It seriously tastes like it was ordered at a $20 per pizza restaurant. Our favorite combo is homemade crust and tomato sauce with spices, topped with spinach, red onions, broccolini, serrano peppers & mozzarella. When it comes out of the oven, top it with bits of burrata & crushed red peppers…you’ll be in love.

We’re also loving fruit & yogurt popsicles. Just blend vanilla yogurt, agave syrup, frozen strawberries, mango, and pineapple & pour into popsicle molds. YUM! We may do a whole recipe post.

What we’re eyeing…

We both have our favorite go-to necklaces and rings, but one of our fashion goals this summer is to load up on bracelets (& even anklets!) that we can stack or wear solo. We love all of the jewelry Sivan Ayla wears & luckily she put this blog post together. Time to load up our Gorjana & Shashi carts! & please, shout out your favorite jewelry brands in the comments section!

What we’re looking forward to…

We’ve been putting getting haircuts off for months, but we finally got haircuts at a new salon on the west side on June 8th – complete with mimosas! We’re looking forward to keeping those fresh chops healthy & investing in strengthening our hair with good products and special care. If you’re in the LA area, let us know who your favorite hair stylists are!

June is our birthday month! As twin sisters, we always like to celebrate together in some way. We’re thinking about planning a weekend getaway to Paso Robles, Los Olivos, or Ojai for a day of wine tasting followed by a relaxing night in. If you have any favorite wineries or getaways near LA, we’re all ears!

We’d love to know what you’ve enjoyed watching, listening to, eating, drinking & what you’ve been eyeing and are looking forward to. Let us know in the comments section or send us a DM on Instagram! Don’t forget to follow us on Pinterest to see what inspires us daily!
