June Monthly Musings // From The Inspired Abode
It’s officially summer! Well, not officially, but the days between Memorial Day and Labor Day always feel the most like summer to us.
Last month, we took a road trip just the two of us to Arizona for our beautiful Tulum-chic baby shower that our mom hosted. We hadn’t been on a long road trip just us sisters in years, and we had so much fun stopping at our favorite mid-trip burrito spot for lunch (shoutout to La Paloma in Blythe!) & treating ourselves to McFlurry’s on bathroom breaks.
This month, we’re spending our days preparing for babies – celebrating with friends & family, taking our babymoons, getting dinner together for our birthday, and spending time at home setting up the nurseries. We hope you all have the best June – can’t wait to catch up in your inbox next month!

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING…
We watched Air on Prime Video and had no idea the Air Jordan was imagined before Michael Jordan even set foot on an NBA court. Such a great story & shoutout to his momma for knowing his worth!
We also can’t believe Succession & Ted Lasso are both over! Gotta love when a good show knows it is time to say goodbye before it gets stale though.
If anyone has any good must-watch shows, please send them our way!
WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO…
If you love 2000s/2010s R&B and hip hop, you’ll love this 13-hour playlist with all of the greats. We listened to this on our road trip to AZ and had the best time!
WHAT WE’RE EATING & DRINKING…
Surprise, surprise, but we are still obsessing over @broccyourbody’s gorditas (for a veg option, we sub beans + soyrizo instead of ground beef). They are just so good & packed with protein!
Halloumi (our favorite grilling cheese) is finally back at Trader Joe’s for a fraction of what it sells for at other grocery stores, and we are SO happy! Time to bring back our go-to Mediterranean-inspired salad for a healthy & delicious lunch.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN BUYING…
B got this rug for her bedroom & it is SO soft, cozy & best of all, affordable!
After obsessing over the Crate & Barrel outlet near us for months, we can finally say one of us has made a purchase! After seeing the Oceanside sectional on their IG stories, Kel shared the story with B and she was able to score it the next day & have it delivered the same weekend!
This is our last full month pre-bebes (assuming they make their debut on their due dates), so we are hyper-focused on prepping the nurseries for their arrival. Our next project is to wash & organize their baby clothes, so these drawer dividers, acrylic shelf dividers, child-size hangers, and baby age-based closet dividers are going to be coming in very handy.
LINKS WE’RE LOVING…
B recently came across Hannah Weisner, a landscape artist, on Instagram & is always instantly soothed when watching her process & reveal Reels. She also just started selling prints on her website that look textured even though they are flat!
Kel’s wedding was just featured – just in time for her anniversary coming up this month! We are absolutely loving being able to relive every beautiful detail & moment.
If you haven’t seen this viral video of deaf people hearing for the first time, get ready for it to pull on your heart strings. It’s beautiful!!
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO…
This weekend, our friends are hosting a baby shower for us & we are so excited! It’s a total surprise and we can’t wait to spend time with our beautiful friends before the bebes arrive.
We live so close to the beach & rarely go see the sunset! It’s something B says she’s going to do every summer, but now that it’s in writing, it will happen this year. It’s time to put our cooler/picnic basket combo to work!
We’re also both going on our babymoons this month! Kel & Nick are heading to Santa Barbara for a relaxing weekend at Rosewood Miramar, and B & David are heading south to L’Auberge Del Mar.
