May Monthly Musings // From The Inspired Abode

We cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by – it’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through 2023! We hope you’ve been soaking up all of the special moments along the way & taking some time for yourself!

We’ve been hard at work on something very special that we’re excited to announce… We launched a Squarespace website design business called Passport to Launch! After designing & building quite a few websites over the years – and learning that so many entrepreneurs want to do the same but don’t have the time, we’re excited to help small businesses create beautiful websites (in only two weeks!) that will attract their dream clients. If you know anyone who may be interested, feel free to have them get in touch with us – we’d love to help cross some items off of their website to-do list in just one day with our VIP Day Tour package, help with branding, copywriting, or visual curation with our À La Carte options, or build a custom website in two weeks with our All-Inclusive package!

Thanks for reading that little plug & we hope you all have a great May soaking up the sunshine!

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING…

While we haven’t seen it yet, we’re so excited for Air – we wanted to make it to the movie theater, but we’ll probably just have a little viewing party once it starts streaming (this month!).

We’ve also been loving working some throw-back funny shows into the mix – like Silicon Valley & Scrubs!

WHAT WE’RE LISTENING TO…

While we haven’t finished it, we’re loving this podcast interview: How To Stop Making To-Do Lists & Use Your Time For What Actually Matters. Hopefully it helps us re-work our seemingly endless productivity goals to make life more fun!

For the parents out there, we also loved listening to this early episode of the Raising Good Humans podcast on how to live a happy life (we’d listened to Dr. Waldinger on the Healthier Together podcast too, but love how this one works in happiness + life with kids).

WHAT WE’RE EATING & DRINKING…

This month has been all about our version of comfort food, which is our favorite recipes (that also happen to be high in protein!):

WHAT WE’VE BEEN BUYING…

Mother’s Day edition!

Since our mom reads our newsletter, we won’t be sharing some of our great gift ideas to not give anything away, but these were some of the items we were eyeing as we shopped!

  • If your mom has a favorite photograph of you two or the fam, consider having it framed (and packaged in a beautiful gift box) for a cherished new décor piece!

  • For a bit of a splurge, mom will love getting the Nuface mini starter kit to keep her glowing all year long.

  • You can never go wrong with flowers – especially if you’re a last-minute shopper & want something that will definitely arrive in time for Mother’s Day!

  • These cozy Eberjey pajamas are the perfect choice for the mom who loves to have a self-care routine & chill at home.

  • This one will take a bit more planning, so maybe save it for next Mother’s Day or your mom’s birthday… LegacyBox will digitize your home movies & photos, so she has all of the great memories from your childhood (or hers!) in one place.

LINKS WE’RE LOVING…

This is no secret, but Kel has been obsessed with Facebook Marketplace recently. After years of ignoring it, she’s purchased quite a few pieces of new & gently used wooden furniture for amazing prices – hint: you just have to know what you’re looking for so it’s not overwhelming!

We haven’t tried these yet… but we’ve heard from a celebrity makeup artist that these sponges are the best Beauty Blender dupe for flawless makeup!

Our book club has an on-the-side “hobby club” where every time we’re all free, we get together to try out a new hobby – think: paddle boarding, painting, etc. If you’re like us and need some non-productive hobbies, you’ll also love this list of 99 Hobbies You Might Consider Picking Up in 2023.

If you’re in a pinch before a gathering with friends & need an easy recipe to whip up, we love this easy Greek feta dip – especially since we usually always have these ingredients in our pantry/fridge!

Even if you’re not looking for a nursery chair like we were, we’ve seen people put this boucle glider/recliner in their living room. It’s so comfy & doesn’t break the bank!

We recently switched from the Simple Habit app to the Calm app for our morning meditations – and can’t wait to listen to their sleep stories. There are just so many options & the search/filter features are wonderful!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO…

While we love to travel, we’re looking forward to spending every weekend in April at home!

B’s planning an Italian dinner party toward the end of the month for some friends & family to try out her pasta making skills.

We’re also heading to a Dodgers game with friends later this month & it’ll be B’s first time, which makes it extra special.

We’d love to know what you’ve enjoyed watching, listening to, eating, drinking & what you’ve been eyeing and are looking forward to. Let us know in the comments section or send us a DM on Instagram! You can also follow us on Pinterest to see what inspires us & our abodes!
